Cherry For Muscle Recovery

If you are suffering the sore muscle after some hard work, you can try some cherry fruits for your recovery. Many scientific studies found that cherries can effectively ease muscle pain after exercise and hard work, and have the functionality of accelerating recovery of the body. In this study, a group of participants drink cherry juice twice a day before a long-distance running while another group of participants just drink some cherry-flavored beverage before the same type of exercises. The result showed that people drinking cherry juice can have a greater effect to relieve muscle soreness than the ones who do not consume cherry juice.


The main reason for this is because that cherries are rich in antioxidants such as anthocyanins and quercetin glycosides. The anti-inflammatory properties can help the body fight against free radicals and this play an important role in the recovery of the body fatigue. Cherries also contain various vitamins and dietary fiber which can boost the immune system of the body and improve the overall health.


Cherries can supplement the iron elements caused by hard work or exercise. Although the iron content contained in cherries is not as abundant as meat, there are still plenty of nutrients contained in this fruit. In addition, cherries also have vitamin c and a small amounts of organic acids which can promote better iron absorption for the human body.
