Grapes And Sleepness
Recently Italian scientists published an article about grapes helping sleepness. According to the article, the researchers tested a total of 8 types of grape juice and found that they may contain melatonin which is secreted by the pineal gland in the brain substance and can help regulate the sleep-wake cycle and release the symptoms of insomnia.
In fact, in addition to help sleepness, grapes have more benefits because they are rich in lots of nutrients. According to the clinical tests, a daily consumption of 100 grams of fresh grapes can meet 4% of calcium, 1.6% of magnesium , 0.12% of p, 16.4% of iron, 16.6% of copper and 2.7% of manganese of our daily needs. Grapes are also helpful in the prevention and treatment of neurasthenia, stomach bloating, cardiovascular diseases.
Scientists also found that in grape skins and grape seeds there is a special type of antioxidant called resveratrol. It is a special nutrient which is helpful in the treatment of skin cancer and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease. In addition, the natural pigments in grape skins do have a good effect of lowering blood sugar and treating cancer. Also, the dark (purple and red) grapes are considered to have more nutrients than light color ones (green and white) because there are more pigments from the skin of dark grapes. Peeled grapes will lose a lot of nutrients.
Morerover, grapes and their side products also have antiviral functionalities. Clinical researches show that grapes or grape juice have a strong resistance to virus. Red wine contains flavonoids and its compounds. As one of these compounds, quercetin can reduce the stickiness of blood platelets so that moderate consumption of red wine can reduce risk of cardiovascular disease and protect our hearts.
Among all kinds of grapes, black grapes do have the best health benefits. It is rich in a lot of minerals including calcium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, vitamins B1, B2, B6, c, and so on. Also, it contains a variety of amino acids which are necessary for human. Frequent consumption of black grapes can relieve the symptoms of nervous exhaustion and fatigues.
