There are numerous varieties of antioxidant-rich beverage in the world. However, compared to the pomegranate juice, their effects are much smaller. According to the health researches, the antioxidant compounds in pomegranate juice content is the highest in all fruit juice. It has a strong ability for the prevention and resistance on arteriosclerosis.

Researchers found that Pomegranate juice can effectively stimulate nitric oxide production in the body, thereby reducing pressure on blood vessel cells. This helps to keep arteries open and keep the smooth blood flow which can significantly decrease the negative effects due to high cholesterol and formation of atherosclerosis. Generally, atherosclerosis is considered to be resulted from the slower blood circulation caused by lipid accumulation in arterial intimal, and it will cause heart attacks and strokes if left untreated. Scientists used to make experiments on red wine, purple grape juice, black tea and other juices or drinks, and pointed out that these beverage rich in antioxidants can improve the blood circulation and prevent damage to arteries. Many large clinical tests also show that antioxidant products can effectively prevent heart attacks and other heart-related diseases. Regarding the prevention and treatment arteriosclerosis to lower the chance of heart diseases, pomegranate juices perform better than red wines and other beverages. Generally, it is considered that the cholesterol in the body will be oxidized, and the deposition can led to arteriosclerosis and a variety of heart diseases. It is also proved by researchers that a daily drinking of 2-3 cup pomegranate juice will cause the oxidation process to be slowed by 40% after consumption for about two weeks. The process of prevention in deposition of oxidation cholesterol can still last about one month even after stopping using pomegranate juices. So, the effects of pomegranate juice in resistance cardiovascular diseases is extraordinary. In subsequent human arterial experiments, it is also shown that the ingredients contained in pomegranate juices can not only reduce the process of cholesterol oxidation, but also reduce the retention and deposition density of lipoprotein in human body.
